Laser Hair Removal – 4 Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re new to laser hair removal treatment, or are thinking of booking your first appointment, it’s normal to have a lot of questions about what it will involve, and what to expect. Laser hair removal is a safe and effective way to remove unwanted hair anywhere on your body. With longer lasting effects than shaving and waxing, it will save you time, protect your skin, and boost your sense of confidence.

In this post, we answer five of the most frequently asked questions from first-time clients.

Are there any side effects?

Laser hair removal is completely safe and does not leave any permanent mark on the skin. It’s been proven to have no links to permanent health problems and does not cause cancer. Immediately afterwards, you may experience minor irritation or redness that may last for a few hours up to a day or two.

It may also mildly alter the colour of skin and hair, though this will barely be noticeable for most people. This may be mildly itchy and won’t last long. It’s worth keeping in mind that everyone’s different, so this may vary.

What equipment do you use?

At Laser Club, we use a state-of-the-art SMARTDiode laser machine. It combines three different light wavelengths, higher energy usage, and the latest intelligent software, meaning the results you get will be pain free, quicker, and with little to no side effects.

It’s safe for all skin, hair and body types, and is strong enough to target the coarsest hairs, while being gentle on your skin in the most sensitive places. This new laser machine is fully tested and quality assured, so that it meets all safety regulations and quality standards.

What do I need to do after the treatment?

There are a few steps you can take to ensure that your laser hair removal treatment has the best outcome, and lower your chances of skin irritation.

Don’t try to remove excess hair
It’s typical for a few stray hairs to be left behind after your treatment. We understand it may be tempting to try to pluck or pull them out – but try to avoid this, as removing the hair this way will make it harder to remove at your next treatment.

Avoid direct sunlight for a week

Exposure to UV rays after laser treatment is likely to cause further irritation and slow down the recovery process. If you need to go outside, make sure the area is well covered, and use an SPF 30 suncream.

Use aftercare creams, or aloe vera gel
To speed up recovery and to calm the skin, we recommend using an aftercare cream. Aloe vera has exceptional healing properties, and will go a long way to preventing irritation and side effects.

We hope this blog post has answered some of your questions about laser treatment. If you have any more questions, or would like to book an initial consultation, don’t hesitate to contact us. We are always happy to help!
