SPMU Tattoo Removal

Do you have Semi permanent makeup that you regret or hasn’t been done properly and want it being removed? At our Manchester, Cheshire, Leeds and Dublin branch we offer SPMU tattoo removal.

At The Laser Club’s clinic, our experienced Laser Technicians are fully VTCT trained to use the most advanced medical grade Pico technology laser machines to remove all tattoos including old SPMU eyebrows and lip make up including microblading, eyebrow tattoos and permanent make-up. It’s non-invasive, and normally requires a few sessions to achieve complete removal. SPMU normally takes minimal sessions as the Tattoo is normally so close to the surface as a blade was used rather than a tattoo machine gun.

As a tattoo laser is moved over your skin, it emits powerful pulses of light energy. This goes into your skin in a harmless way, and impacts the ink particles, causing them to break into smaller pieces as a result of the heat generated by the laser. When the particles become small enough, they absorb back into the body and removed harmlessly by the immune system. Different ink colours need different strengths of light in order to break apart, so your technician will use a patch test to find out what intensity to use during your laser removal session. In order to completely remove a tattoo, you will need to come back for further sessions. The number of sessions needed varies depending on the size and colour of your tattoo. Eyebrow tattoo removal is normally quicker.

Pico Laser Tattoo Removal

Pico-second technology is the latest innovation in tattoo removal. They emit super-fast energy pulses, lasting a pico-second, which is much shorter than a nano-second. Our pico laser machine results in an almost pain-free experience.

It shatters the ink pigment particles into smaller pieces than older technology, making it easier for the body to absorb them. This gives you a faster treatment where results can be seen sooner.

Our machine is one of the strongest laser tattoo removal machines worldwide due to its pico laser technology.

It’s important to look after the treated area after your laser treatment, particularly if you experience temporary redness or minor swelling.

For Brow Tattoo SMPU removal its £125 or we offer a discounted package of 3 for £325.

Pros and Cons for SMPU Tattoo Removal and Saline Removal

Pros of tattoo removal:

  • Laser Tattoo Removal has a much lower infection risk as saline removal can have a recovering time of 8-10 weeks and as the skin is open it has a very high risk of infectin
  • Laser Tattoo Removal can be used for all sized and colours of different tattoos where as saline removal is harder to achieve full removal and harder to get rid of very dark pigments
  • Laser Tattoo Removal can be super quick

Cons for tattoo removal:

The only cons is that it can be slightly painful but at the Laser club we have a cool machine to help numb any pain
Laser tattoo removal can be more expensive than saline solution but after seeing the pros I think this outweighs going for saline

Frequently asked questions

Tattoos consist of an abundance of ink particles that are deposited into your skin’s deepest layer, the dermis. Once ink particles are embedded, your immune system immediately sends bacteria eating cells to remove the alien substance from your skin. Due to their large size in proportion to the cells, the ink particles remain etched in your skin but gradually fade as your immune system continually eats away at the particles over time.
Laser tattoo removal acts as an aid to your immune system by speeding up the natural fading process. During a laser session, our Pico Laser machine sends ultra-quick pulses of light energy onto the undesired tattoo. The ink particles absorb the light energy, heat up, and shatter into tiny nanoparticle fragments that your immune system can more easily flush out.

Multiple treatments are required to treat the various layers of ink particles that make up a tattoo. The laser targets the shallowest layer of ink and works its way down with each session until the deepest layer is shattered. Over the weeks following each treatment, your immune system will continue to send bacteria eating cells to clear the shattered ink fragments until all the ink is removed to your desired goal.

Occasionally, a whitening of the skin may occur. However, normal skin tone should return within 6 -12 months following your last treatment session. Since the ink used in tattooing can vary from tattoo to tattoo, results can heavily vary depending on how experienced or inexperienced the tattooist was, how deep the tattoo ink is and if any scarring occurred on your original tattoo, this is normally due to the tattooist going too deep with the needle. If this is the case, once your tattoo is removed – you could be left with some raised scarring.

Right after your treatment, your skin will have a white discolouration/flake, and the area around the tattoo will become reddish and appear swollen. This is normal and will disappear slowly over time. Results take about 5 weeks after each treatment. Immediately after treatment, antibacterial ointment and gauze will be applied to the treated area to minimise infection.

Some patients say they feel a slight sting, like the snap of a rubber band on the skin. Many treatments do not require numbing. However, some patients feel more comfortable with a local numbing agent, such as a topical numbing cream which we can offer.

This varies depending on factors such as the location, depth, colour and size of your unwanted tattoo. We recommend spacing out your treatments by 4-8 weeks to give your body the best chance of removing the most pigment. We can also never say how long its going to take to remove your old tattoo with our laser tattoo removal machine, it all depends on so many factors such as how deep the tattoo is, what ink was used, colours etc

An individual laser tattoo removal appointment typically lasts between 10 and 20 minutes.
