Manufacturer and clinic materials highlight that the system is capable of up to around 4,800 watts peak power, and combines multiple wavelengths in a single platform, including diode/Alexandrite and Nd:YAG ranges so our practitioners can choose the best energy/wavelength for the hair and skin being treated. Is Primelase safe for dark skin? – Yes, because of its multiple wavelengths including Nd:YAG-range options and cooling, Primelase is routinely used to treat darker Fitzpatrick phototypes when protocols are followed.
Does it hurt? – Most clients describe mild to moderate discomfort, significantly reduced by contact cooling, a lot of our clients describe it as pain-free. Many clinics report a relatively comfortable experience compared with older systems.
How long until I see results? – Some reduction often appears after the first sessions; a full course is tailored and typically delivered over months to match hair growth cycles.
How many sessions will I need? – Most people need 6-12 sessions spaced about 4–8 weeks apart depending on the area. Hair grows in cycles, and the laser only targets follicles in the active growth phase, which is why multiple treatments are necessary.
How should I prepare before my appointment? – Avoid waxing, plucking, or threading for at least 4 weeks before treatment — the laser needs hair roots to target. Shave the area 24 hours before your session and skip any tanning (natural or artificial).
