The Laser Club Guide To Hair Removal Leeds

Are you tired of the constant battle with unwanted hair? Shaving, waxing, and plucking can be time-consuming and often result in irritation and ingrown hairs. If you’re looking for a more effective and long-lasting solution, laser hair removal is the answer you’ve been searching for.

What is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is a popular cosmetic procedure that uses concentrated beams of light to target and remove hair follicles. The laser emits a specific wavelength of light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles. This energy is converted into heat, which damages the follicle and inhibits future hair growth. The procedure is effective for reducing hair growth on various areas of the body, including the face, legs, bikini line, underarms, and more. At the Laser Club we use PrimeLase which is the most powerful diode for laser hair removal in the world.

Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

Precision: Laser hair removal targets individual hair follicles without affecting the surrounding skin, ensuring precise and accurate results.

Long-Lasting: Unlike temporary hair removal methods like shaving and waxing, laser hair removal offers long-lasting results. Most of the Laser Club clients will see a significant reduction after their first few sessions!

Speed: The Primelase laser hair removal machine can treat a whole body in as little as 30 minutes as it only needs to skim the skins surface once!

Minimal Discomfort: While some individuals might experience mild discomfort during the procedure, it is generally less painful than other hair removal methods. The Primelase machine at the Laser Club has an ice cool tip to help with any discomfort.

Reduced Ingrown Hairs: Since laser hair removal targets the hair follicle, it can significantly reduce the occurrence of ingrown hairs compared to methods like shaving or waxing.

Preparing for Your First Session

Before your first laser hair removal session at the Laser Club, there are a few steps you can take to ensure the best results and minimize potential risks:

Consultation: Before any treatment can go ahead you will need to book in for a free consultation and patch test at any of our Laser Club branches. We will assess your skin type, hair colour, and medical history to determine if you’re a suitable candidate for the procedure. This is where pricing option will be discussed depending on the areas you want.

Avoid Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least two weeks before your session.

Shave the Area: At the Laser Club we advise shaving 2-24 hours before your appointment. This helps the laser energy target the hair follicle more effectively.

Avoid Certain Products: Refrain from using products that could make your skin more sensitive, such as retinoids and alpha hydroxy acids, in the treatment area a few days before the session. When coming to the Laser Club make sure you are free from any moisturiser and deodorant.

What to Expect During the Procedure

During the laser hair removal session:

Protective Gear: At the Laser Club you and your therapist will wear protective eyewear specifically designed to protect your eyes from the Primelase machine.

Cooling Gel: A cooling gel will be applied to the treatment area to help the Primelase head glide over the skin.

Primelase Laser Pulses: The therapist will use the Primelase handheld device to deliver laser pulses to the targeted area.

Duration: The duration of the session depends on the size of the treatment area. As mentioned, the Primelase only needs to skim the skins surface once so areas are treated much quicker than other laser hair removal machines on the market. Smaller areas like the upper lip might take only a few minutes and full bodies can be done in around 30 minutes.

Aftercare and Results

After your session, you might experience some redness, mild swelling, and a sensation like a sunburn. These side effects are usually temporary and subside within a few hours to a day. To ensure the best results and minimize complications:

Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect the treated area from the sun and avoid tanning for a few weeks after the session.

Aloe Vera: At the Laser Club we stock our very only aloe vera for only £15. We advise all of our clients to apply aloe vera to keep the skin hydrated and soothe any discomfort.

Avoid Irritation: Avoid activities that could irritate the treated area, such as hot showers, saunas, and strenuous exercise, for at least 24 hours.

The Number of Sessions Needed

At the Laser Club we use the strongest machine in the world so our clients will find they need less sessions than they would do at other laser clinics. Laser hair removal is most effective when hair is in the active growth phase, which is why multiple sessions are required. On average, you might need about 6 to 8 sessions spaced several weeks apart to achieve optimal results. After the initial sessions, you may need occasional maintenance sessions to ensure lasting hair reduction.

Is Laser Hair Removal Right for You?

A lot of people think laser hair removal is only effective for individuals with lighter skin tones and darker hair colours due to the way the laser targets pigment. However, at the Laser Club we use the Primelase machine who have made it possible to treat a wider range of skin and hair types.
